A Meaningful Wesak Day Celebration – 31 May 2026

In 31 May 2026, our centre joyfully concluded this year’s Wesak Day celebration, marking a deeply meaningful and fulfilling day for both our members and the wider community.

This year’s celebration was especially significant as we successfully applied for a government grant, which contributed RM2,000 in support of the event. This encouragement further motivated us to organise a celebration that was not only spiritually enriching, but also impactful to the community.

The day began with a puja at 8:30am, which was also made available online to allow more participants to join remotely. The session was attended by approximately 15 sangha members, all gathered with enthusiasm and devotion to commemorate this important occasion.

In the true spirit of Wesak, we extended our practice beyond the shrine hall through acts of generosity. This year, we undertook a meaningful initiative to donate 100 rice boxes to the underprivileged, in collaboration with Perak Women for Women. The response from donors was very encouraging, reflecting the collective goodwill and compassion of our community.

Part of the donations received will also be channelled towards the New Temple Fund, supporting the continued development of our centre and future activities.

Wesak is a time to reflect on the Buddha’s teachings of wisdom, compassion, and generosity. Being able to celebrate this sacred day while contributing to the welfare of others made the occasion especially fulfilling for everyone involved.

May the merits of today’s celebration and our collective efforts contribute to the happiness and well-being of all sentient beings.
