Highlights from Lama Sangyay Tendzin’s Visit in 2026
We were deeply honoured to receive a visit from Lama Sangyay Tendzin, who spent time with our community from 20 April to 15 May 2026. His presence brought great inspiration and offered valuable opportunities for learning and practice.
During this visit, Lama imparted two important teachings:
- Lojong (Mind Training) – a profound practice focused on transforming the mind and cultivating compassion in daily life
- The 10 Universal Fetters – an essential teaching that helps practitioners understand and gradually overcome the mental bonds that keep us in cyclic existence
In addition, Lama delivered a public Dharma talk on 9 May 2026 at Tin Alley, titled “The Practice of Generosity.” The session was well attended by both members and the public, and we are pleased to note that several attendees have remained in contact with our committee, reflecting the positive impact of the event. Mandarin translation was provided, allowing the teachings to reach a wider audience.

It was also truly wonderful to have Lama join us at our Annual General Meeting on 10 May 2026, which made the occasion especially meaningful for our members.
During this trip, Lama also visited the construction site of our new centre and has been closely following up on our fundraising progress, offering his support and encouragement for the continued development of this important project.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to Lama’s travel fund, whose generosity made this visit possible.
Special thanks are also extended to Liana Tan, Yuki Poon, and Derek Yeap for their kind hospitality in Kuala Lumpur, and to SeeFoon Chan Koppen for hosting Lama in Ipoh. Their generosity and dedication greatly contributed to the success of this visit.
We sincerely look forward to spending time with Lama again in the future.
May the merits of these activities benefit all beings, and may the teachings continue to inspire wisdom and compassion in our community.
